Optfiine does not download as the correct file

 · When I download OptiFine and go to open it it opens an internet explorer page. I've downloaded the latest version of java. Instead of the icon being the java logo it shows the icon for internet explorer. I've tried downloading different versions of optifine but it does the same thing. If anyone knows how to fix this issue please help. Thanks.  · Step 1) Download Install Optifine. Shaders isn’t technically a mod; it is a graphics pack that is installed in a very similar manner to texture packs. Step 2) Download A Shaders Pack. There are tons of different shaders packs out there. Step 3) Open Your Shaders Folder.  · Click the Download button to the right of the OptiFine version you want. On the next page, you may need to wait for the Skip Ad button to appear after five seconds. Click the Download OptiFine link in the middle of the next page. Navigate to, or copy and paste, the file path you found in the previous step and download OptiFine.

How to install Optifine. First, you'll need to go to the optifine download page here. Next, click on 'preview versions' on the top left of the screen; Download the latest version of Optifine (at the time of this blog it is ) If the download says 'this type of file can harm your computer' do not worry! Just click 'Keep'. Wait for the timer to end and click 'skip'. Then just click download on the next page. Step 2. Install Optifine. This is incredibly simple because you do not need to move anything around into bltadwin.ruaft folders. It installs itself into the correct place and replaces the version of Minecraft in your launcher. Go to the OptiFine official website and click Downloads. On this page, you should download the version of OptiFine that matches the version of Minecraft you want to play. We highly recommend playing as this is the most current stable version of OptiFine. One last thing you'll need to download before you can install OptiFine is Java itself.

I'm not sure if it is because of the computer I'm using but when I open Optifine it keeps on saying "This file does not have an app associated with it." I've tried multiple versions of the game and but none of them work. I used bltadwin.ru which is what I was told to do but it's not working for me. When downloading through WinRAR, the above box does not show and instead, it just opens up the WinRAR box with all of the data files of the OptiFine version in it: In order to get the first image and install through Java, which is frankly an easier and better way of downloading OptiFine, this is what you want to do.
